The Metrel A1532 EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) Adapter is specially designed for the functional testing and verification of electrical safety for Mode 3 electric vehicle charging stations with a type 2 connector when used in conjunction with a multifunction tester (MFT).
This enables you to test your EV charge point and connection cables ‘live’ without opening the box.
The adaptor simulates a vehicle connected to the charge point with selectable options available for charge output including:
Disconnected
Charge Ready
Charging
Pilot Error
Suitable for simulating vehicles with cooling / ventilation power requirements and those without.
All tests (Insulation, Voltage / Frequency, Earth Loop, PFC and RCD) can be performed externally without the need to open the box and access internal terminals. The A1532 EVSE Adaptor has a BNC connector directly accessing the Control Pilot for analysis of the station signals for different charging states.
The adapter also enables full testing of the associated connection cabling and plugs / sockets in use (normally this cannot be achieved without energising the charging circuit).
The A1532 can be used with ANY standard Multifunction Tester (MFT) that feature 4mm banana connections, however, some Metrel models have dedicated functionality specifically for EVSE applications:
