The Amprobe SM-20A Sound Meter can be used to evaluate compliance with safety requirements and undertake acoustic analysis by safety engineers, health, industrial and safety offices as well as quality control. It has a PC interface to download results to a computer

The Amprobe SM-20A Sound Meter uses two separate weighting filters as specified by IEC651 and ANSI S1.4 Type 2. The A weighting is used to determine the sound level of ambient noise, whereas the C weighting is used to determine the sound level of acoustic material control in varied contexts (ie 94 dB 1 kHz, etc).
