The Megger EST 150 High Voltage Discharge Rod is designed for high voltage engineers and cable testing technicians performing dielectric testing, fault location and HV cable diagnostics.
After high voltage cable testing, cables can retain dangerous stored energy. The EST 150 discharge rod safely discharges and earths cables up to 150 kV, removing residual voltage before technicians handle or ground the circuit.
A built-in discharge resistor provides controlled damped discharge, limiting current while rapidly removing cable charge and reducing post-charging effects during high voltage testing. The rod is manufactured from fibreglass-reinforced plastic with extended safety clearance, ensuring safe operation when working around high voltage equipment.
The EST 150 model measures approximately 208 cm in length, making it suitable for high voltage and extra high voltage cable testing environments.
