T&R Test Equipment PCU1-SP Mk2

The PCU1-SP Mk2 from T & R is a mid powered primary current injection test set, with the ability to offer output currents up to 5000A. A separate control unit contains all the metering and control functions, with a loading unit that provides the high current output. This meter is ideal for primary current injection testing as well as stability and circuit breaker testing.

This SP model features direct-reading CT ration and polarity tests, and a 100A secondary injection output. Two optional loading units are also available for output currents of 2000A or 5000A. Loading units must be purchased separately.

The control unit, rated at 11.5kVA has a second overload capability of 23kVA using pulse mode. Metering is digital and an additional memory facility holds the current reading when the output trips, or is switched off. A solid state device switches the current and is automatically switched off when the the unit under test trips.

The PCU1-SP has a high accuracy timing system, which allows for timing tests to be performed, to a 1ms resolution. It features automatic selection of normally open or closed contacts and the contact status is shown on the front panel. Additional timing modes are available to test under and over current devices, re-closers, under and over voltage devices, current trips and circuit breakers.
