Test Leads
Q: I am looking for some test leads for my Fluke 1651 multi tester, they have a banana plug on one end and a 13A plug top on the other.
A: You need the Fluke MTC1363.
Q: Do the Fluke multi function testers come with all the leads required?
A: The Fluke 1652C, 1653B & 1654B testers are supplied with all the relevant leads, including fused probes & croc clips, remote test probe and mains test lead. The Fluke 1651 model does not include the remote test probe.
Q: Do You have an earth spike kit for a Fluke 1652C?
A: The Fluke 1652C doesn’t have an earth resistivity test function so there are no spike kits available. If you need an earth resistance tester, we have the Robin Amprobe KMP7010 in stock, these are low cost units and are supplied with the spike kit too.
Alternatively you can purchase the Fluke 1653B or Fluke 1654B testers.
Q: Do you sell a long lead, flying lead, with insulated crocodile clip attachment?
A: Yes, we have two options for a long wander lead, both are 50m long, supplied on cable reels and both include an insulated crocodile clip.
The Martindale TL78 or Megger ETL50.
Warranty
Q: How long is the warranty with this product?
A: The Fluke 1650 series carry a 3 year warranty, the test leads have a one year warranty.
General Questions
Q: I want to measure short circuit current of the line, which mode of Fluke 1653b is available for checking short circuit current?
A: Short circuit current is measured as part of the earth loop impedance test, both results for loop impedance and PSC are displayed at the same time on completion of the test.
Q: What is the problem when the display reads error 5? Also i would like a copy of all the display meanings?
A: Error 5 is an indication of excessive noise on a circuit, preventing the earth loop test from running properly. On the non-trip option the current is only 15mA, which means that if there is a lot of equipment connected to the circuit, or noisy equipment such as PCs or lights, then the signal effectively gets lost – and the tester cannot get a reading.
In this situation, and where possible, the best thing to do is power down any appliances to allow the test to run.
A list of all the error codes is in the manual, on page 17. The manual is on the CD-ROM included with the Fluke unit, alternatively you can download a copy from our website.
Q: Are there any dvds showing how to use the Fluke test equipment?
A: Fluke used to produce a DVD with regards to testing using these instruments, however this is no longer available since the introduction of the 17th Edition. As far as I am aware they have not released another one. There are a series of application notes produced by Fluke for these testers, these are freely downloadable from the Fluke 1652C page, located under the “”Applications”” tab.
Q: I’m thinking of purchasing the Fluke 1653b multifunction tester, could you tell me about calibration details eg 165X Calibration or TC2C Calibration?
A: These units are supplied with a manufacturers calibration certificate, issued on the date of manufacture. There is a section on the certificate where you enter the date that you commission the equipment into service and your calibration is effectively valid for 12 months from this date.
Although most of our customers are happy to use this certificate, we do have some users who prefer to have the item calibrated on the day of purchase with a personliased certificate, hence we offer a calibration service as an option, as such this incurs an additional charge.
