The Testovent 417, a novel volume flow straightener, is ideal for measuring flow velocity at swirl outlets. The volume flow straightener allows the whirling flow to be redirected into a nearly uniform flow that can be reliably measured using a vane anemometer or vane probes. Depending on the flow direction in which the swirl impacts on the vane, measurements at swirl outlets without the volume flow straightener result in lower or higher measurement results.
The volume flow straightener is used in conjunction with the optional measurement funnel testovent 417, the optional vane anemometer testo 417, or the testo 435, testo 440, and testo 480 vane probes (100mm).
