The Megger MFT1735 is an electrical installation multifunction tester with additional earth resistance tests built-in. This particular tester is ideal for anyone who does a lot of earth ground or lightning protection testing, but also carries out general installation tests.
The key difference between the MFT1735 and MFT1730 is the addition of stakeless earth measurement. Using the two optional clamps, you can take earth resistance readings without breaking the circuit. With this extra test feature, you do lose some of the test features found on some of the other Megger testers, specifically the automatic R1 + R2 calculation and Zmax value.
The MFT1735 has the rugged build quality that you'd expect from Megger, along with a simple control panel for test selection. Test buttons are located on either side, making it easy to use for left and right handed users. This is a downloading model, with results stored in the tester for download to the Megger Lite Onsite software, or other Powersuite packages. Based on the design of the MFT1730, the 1735 features Bluetooth communication, so test results can be transmitted in realtime to a laptop enabled PC or smartphone.
There is a large, clear LCD display with backlight and it also features the Megger patented analog arc. Key values are displayed when carrying out a test, such as the output voltage for insulation testing as well as the resistance value. An audible and visual live circuit warning notify you if voltage exceeds a safe level for test and prevents the test from running.
As a top end model, the MFT1735 will test B type RCDs and features true RMS voltage readings. It features IP54 protection and a CAT IV safety rating. The tough design ensures the tester can withstand accidental misuse and voltage transients.
The tester is supplied with a 3 way test lead set, mains test lead, earth spike kit with 3 leads & two spikes, remote test probe, rechargeable batteries, mains charger, hard carry case & manufacturer production calibration certificate (user enters in-service date to start the 12-month calibration clock).
