The second model in the range of entry level cameras from FLIR, the FLIR E5 has an increased resolution of 120 x 90 pixels and a better sensitivity at 0.10°C (100mK). This model is ideal for basic checks in industrial and electrical applications, as well as looking for leaks in heating pipes or blockages in heating systems.

The inclusion of a 45° wide angle lens makes it easier to get better images in confined spaces. The E5 also has the MSX enhancement, which adds the detail from the digital image to the thermal. This enhancement makes it easier to locate problems and enables details such as circuit numbers to be seen on the thermal image.

The E5 has a 0.3 megapixel digital camera with a low-light adjustment feature, this means there is no need for extra lighting, thus saving battery power. With the MSX feature, the FLIR E4 will capture a thermal, digital and MSX version of each image, enabling you to choose either one for your reports. Up to 200 images can be stored on the internal memory for download to the free FLIR Tools software package.
