The Thermapen Professional has a clever backlit display that detects light levels and turns the backlight on/off automatically depending on the light level. When the Thermapen Professional is placed down or picked up, the motion-sensing sleep mode with user-adjustable time delay automatically turns it on/off, extending battery life.

The casing is washable and includes a Biomaster additive that reduces bacterial growth and the ergonomic rubber seal minimises the risk of the ingress of water, dust or food. As well as being waterproof to IP66/67, it is still 'probably the fastest reading contact thermometer on the market today.

In only three seconds, you can determine whether a product is at the proper temperature. When not in use, the Thermapen Classic has a reduced tip stainless steel food penetration probe (3.3 x 115 mm) that folds back through 180° into the side of the instrument.
